The Fire circle
A covered fire-pit with benach all around for around 10-15 people. Seasoned firewood appropriate for an open fire is left under the benches for you to use and some life-starting kindling etc. We built this so even in the rain we can enjoy a fire, it's lovely to sit here and listen to the Mwldan river. Some folks make hot chocolate and toast marshmallows here, others use to to cook or hold ceremony or a drumming circle.
Disabilty access is limited, partly due to the enviroment, but please contact us regarding your accessibilty needs as we'd like to support your visit and improve.
The Roundhouse studio
Our shala/studio is 11m internally and built entirely from natural materials from these lands or nearby forests. The walls are strawbale, cob & lime, the green roof is sedum (the only plastic is roof waterproofing). There's electric underfloor heating, a large wood burner with seasoned wood supplied. There are approx 10 bolsters, 12 mats, 10 blocks, 10 shawls/blankets to use. We ask guests to remove their shoes and bring bottled water only to enter. There's a flush toilet next to the studio and a compost toilet nearby. The 8 windows aligned with the compass points.
Felinganol aims to be as energy-sustainable as possible. We have solar panels and our own beautiful filtered water.
The Treelodge
This cabin is in the tree with 10 steps leading up to it. There are 3 single beds and wonderful views of the forest, meadow and birds. 2 x electric radiators and 3 x lamps. The cabin has a terrace balcony.
The Shepherds Hut
This dreamy cabin has a double bed and it's own sink. It suits a couple, close friends or family or someone wanting a bigger solo space to relax in.
The Far Cabin 1 + 2
These are 2 solo cabins both with a single bed, electric radiator, lamp and desk. These cabins are adjioned by a wall but have seperate doors. These are in the our furthest field towards the forest and suit those keen on solitude and the wilder side.
Ty Cariad
This is a round cabin with a double bed. It's the furthest from the shala/studio and dining lodge and has use of a compost loo and shower behind the nearby Ty Haf twin twin cabin. Both cbins over look our veg patch.
The Lodge
This is a communal space for making hot drinks, dining and socialising. It has 2 adjoining tables that comfortably seat 10-12, 2 x electric heaters and a wood burning stove. There is a basic kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, toaster, 2 x kettles and a hot water heater for washing up but we are off-grid for water so our chefs often prepare food in their own kitchens to heat/serve here.
Al fresco dining
In recent years groups have enjoyed eating outside by the Mwldan river when warm. This has been so popular we are designing a new longer dining table and sorucing outdoor charis for more outside dining in 2027. It is special eating listening to the song of the river.
Mwnt beach
Mwnt beach is a 5min drive and 40min-1hr walk and well worth a visit. It's famous for dolphins and porpoises leaping and has a quiet ancient small white-wahsed church on a Holy water site and has long been a place of prilgrimage through the centuries. It's a special place beloved of all who visit here.
Thank you to Amanda Clifford and Jessica Foster-Morison for photos of your beautiful meals here.
The Food
Food is very importnat to us! All our meals are 100% hand-made, vegan (sometimes happy eggs if requested) using organic and local, seasonal produce wherever possible. We have excellent retreat chefs who will work with retreat leaders /hosts to support special diets where possible. Some groups ask for packed lunches to take to the beach or on hikes. We serve nourishing, wholesome food without processed products. There is always a fruit bowl and something to snack on and plenty of hot drinks available. Breakfast is DIY help-yourself and dinner is served by our cooks.
